Submission Guidelines
Thank you for choosing to submit your article to our journal. The following instructions are crucial for us to conduct the peer review, production, and publication of your work appropriately. We kindly request that you carefully read and strictly adhere to the recommended standards, ensuring that your article fully meets the journal's requirements. If you require assistance in preparing your manuscript for submission and subsequent publication, PSM Review provides a range of services to support you in this process. Please visit the "Author Services" section for more information. PSM Review accepts manuscripts in Portuguese, English, or Spanish.
Conflict of Interest:
The credibility of articles depends on effectively managing conflicts of interest during peer review and decision-making by editors. Conflicts may arise when authors, reviewers, or editors have interests that could influence the evaluation of manuscripts. Authors must disclose financial support and other personal or financial connections related to the research. Conflicts of interest may be personal, commercial, political, academic, or financial in nature and must be noted in the specified field in Submissions. If you have any questions, feel free to contact PSM Review for clarification.
Manuscript Identification Data:
- Authors' identification data: First and last name (Follow the format already indexed in databases and included in ORCID).
- Name and address of the corresponding author.
- Inclusion of the affiliation institution (e.g., university, college, department).
- Identify co-authors by name, surname, and institution, following the order of authorship.
Preparation of the Manuscript:
- Title:
The title should be clear, concise, and accurately communicate the content and focus of the research. We recommend that titles and subtitles not exceed 15 words and should be in bold.
Keywords: Enter three to five keywords separated by semicolons.
- Abstract:
The abstract must be written in its original language and also in English for manuscripts in Portuguese and Spanish. As a general rule, the abstract should cover, in the specified order, the following elements: context, gap, objective, methodology, results, and conclusion. It should contain no more than 250 words.
Text Structure:
- Introduction:
The introduction should contextualize the study's topic, emphasizing its relevance to the scientific and social scenario. Provide a brief and critical literature review, identifying previous research and pointing out knowledge gaps. Clearly and concisely outline the overall objective of the research, focusing on the research question or problem to be addressed. Justify the study, explaining its importance and contribution to the field, highlighting how it fills gaps in existing literature. Finally, briefly describe the organization of the article's sections, indicating what will be presented in each.
- Theoretical Background:
The theoretical framework should provide a definition of key concepts and offer a critical literature review that explores diverse perspectives and theories related to the theme. The framework should reflect the current state of knowledge on the investigated topic, supporting scientific understanding with evidence, arguments, data, and relevant information. When establishing propositions or hypotheses, ensure a solid argumentative structure or provide observable and measurable empirical evidence. The literature review should aim to include studies from the last five years, relative to the date of submission, and engage in a critical "conversation" among cited authors.
- Methods:
The methodology section should thoroughly present the study type and the adopted methodological approach. Offer a clear description of the procedures employed, the variables analyzed, and the hypotheses to be tested. Provide detailed information about the population, sample, and measurement instruments. Describe the methods used for data collection and processing, and cite sources related to the techniques and methods used, including statistical methods. Emphasize adherence to ethical principles in the research, explaining that the study was conducted following ethical standards and approved by an ethics committee, if applicable.
- Findings:
The results section should follow a structured format, presenting the main findings in a clear and organized manner. Begin with a brief introduction to contextualize the presentation of the results. Present the data objectively, using charts and graphs if necessary to enhance understanding. The description of the results should be concise, highlighting patterns and trends, substantiated with references to the data and methods used, and aligned with the research questions or established hypotheses. Avoid repeating graphs and tables within the text.
- Discussion of Results:
The discussion section should offer an interpretation of the obtained results and contextualize them in relation to the existing literature presented in the introduction. Highlight the main findings and compare them with previous studies, emphasizing convergences and divergences. Critically interpret the results, analyze identified patterns, explain their possible causes, and relate them to the original research questions or hypotheses. Discuss the implications of the study for the research area.
- Conclusion:
In this section, present the achieved results in a clear and concise manner, directly addressing the initial research questions or hypotheses based on the findings. Highlight the main contributions of the study to the research area, emphasizing their relevance and impact. Address the limitations of the study and discuss its implications. Emphasize the practical applications of the results and their broader implications. Provide suggestions for future research, grounded in the identified gaps and limitations of the current study. Ensure that the conclusion is cohesive, clear, and does not introduce new information or data that has not been previously discussed in the article.
Formatting Requirements:
Manuscripts must be formatted in Word for Windows 6.0 or higher, using A4 format (29.7 x 21cm). The text should be single-spaced, in Arial font, size 12, justified, with top and left margins set at 3 cm and bottom and right margins at 2 cm. The full text should range between a minimum of 7600 words and a maximum of 8400 words.
Editing:
Citations, bibliographic references, and the formatting of tables and figures must adhere to the APA (American Psychological Association - 7th edition) standards. For additional information, please refer to the APA Style Blog.
Presentation Guidelines:
